along the southern boundary and provides access to the Italian
Garden, Round Dell and Old Potting Sheds.
It is a sheltered South Facing area ideal for growing tender plants. Two very old magnificent acers are a highlight of the walk.
in 2009 year, to celebrate our 45th Anniversary of opening to the public as a registered charity, we enhanced the walk with numerous summer flowering bulbs kindly donated by the Spalding Bulb and Plant Company, which, coincidentally, celebrated its 65th Anniversary. Based in the Georgian market town of Spalding in Lincolnshire, the centre of the UK bulb-growing area for over a century, the company pioneered the establishment of new links with Dutch bulb growers after the Second World War and has remained one of the UK’s leading plant and bulb specialists ever since.
