Press Release 2010
Borde Hill’s
popular events series would not be complete without a display of
classic car design set within the classic beauty and dramatic
scenery of its garden. This year is no exception with a fantastic
line-up of pre-war and post-war Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars that
will be presented on the South Lawn with a backdrop of the Tudor
Mansion on Sunday 4th July.
This event will appeal not only to enthusiasts of classic motoring, but also to anyone who enjoys the very finest in automotive engineering design. The contrast between man made and natural beauty and elegance will be there for all to appreciate and debate will surely follow as to which gives the greatest pleasure.
The cars will be on display until 4.00pm when they will leave Borde Hill in a cavalcade of style and elegance, providing a fitting finale to a grand day out.
Listed by English Heritage as of Grade II* historic importance, this year is the 45th anniversary of the first public opening of Borde Hill Garden as a registered charity. Created over a century ago by Colonel Stephenson Robert Clarke, stunning and botanically-rich Borde Hill is today one of the most admired gardens of Sussex.
The garden is open 22 March -12 Sept & 23 - 31 Oct, daily 10am-6pm. Other attractions include the new children’s adventure playground, fishing lakes, Café Elvira, Jeremy’s Restaurant (Good Food Guide 2008) and the Green Tree Gallery.
