Nov 2 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Friends of Borde Hill & Sussex Prairie - Autumn Open Day

An exclusive open day for Friends of Borde Hill and Sussex Prairie Garden Members (pre-booking required)

Members of Borde Hill and Sussex Prairie Garden can enjoy exclusive access to the Garden on Monday 2 November (the day after we close to the public on 1 November) to admire the splendour of autumn colour.

You will also have the opportunity to meet informally with one of our Garden Team between 11am-12noon and 1.30-2.30pm where you can hear about how we ‘put the garden to bed’ for the winter, and how some of our techniques can be applied to your own garden.  You might also have some horticultural questions to ask our experts!

The Gardeners’ Retreat Café will be open serving hot and cold drinks, cakes, sausage rolls and sandwiches.  For younger visitors, ‘The Borde Hill Academy of Witches & Wizards’ Halloween trail will be open for one more day, so it is a last chance to enjoy the story trail, solve the challenges and win a prize.

The reciprocal free entry for Members of both Gardens will not continue into 2021[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Tickets

Children’s Outdoor Theatre: Mr Stink – Postponed to 2021

Children's Outdoor Theatre: Mr Stink - Postponed to 2021

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_column_text]David Walliams’ best-seller Mr Stink is coming to Borde Hill Garden with an open air theatre production staged by Heartbreak Productions.

You’re invited to celebrate Annabelle’s 10th birthday, hosted by everyone’s favourite MP candidate, Janet Crumb! (Almost) everyone is welcome… that is, everyone apart from Chloe’s particularly smelly new friend, Mr Stink.

One perfectly normal afternoon in an average English town two restless souls unite on a park bench – one of them the lonely 12 year old Chloe Crumb and the other an incredibly smelly homeless man. Oh, and let’s not forget his loyal dog, the Duchess. Chloe’s curiosity and kindness pave the way for this extraordinary and rewarding friendship that takes them to the heady heights of live television and Downing Street via a garden shed.

Pack a picnic, grab a chair and dress for the weather. Packed with fun, humour and a heart-warming message, this touching tale provides the perfect family entertainment.

Performed on the South Lawn against the backdrop of the Elizabethan Mansion House, Heartbreak Productions’ version of this popular children’s book is suitable for children aged 7+.

Refreshments will be available throughout the performance.
