Nick Maycock, one of the organising team says ‘We’ve been keen to add a venue near Brighton to our calendar and Borde Hill ticks all the boxes. We can’t wait to see the people of Brighton and West Sussex come out and have a good time with us. There’s a lot of interest in the event and we are really looking forward to a fantastic foodie weekend’.

Nick adds that there is a lot to do for all the family ‘We have a wide variety of food and drink stalls, lots of demos, forager walks, live music, kids entertainment, kids cookery lessons and our popular Challenge stage with a chilli-eating competition.’

There will be a great mix of live music from local bands and artists, so you can do some shopping, grab some food and then relax with a local beer listening to some great live entertainment all within the beautiful grounds at Borde Hill.

Tickets are booked on entry time slots to lessen queues and all tickets include access to the award-winning Garden, so it’s the perfect recipe for a great day out for all ages. A gentle woodland walk around Warren Wood to discover wild edibles of the season.

You’ll find out how to use autumnal shoots, roots, seeds, fruits (and fungi if we’re lucky) as flavourings in your dishes and drinks. Your guide, Sussex forager Sarah Watson, will discuss how to forage responsibly and safely identify edible plants and fungi.

You’ll also get ideas for using autumn foraged fare in delicious recipes, and a chance to try some wild preserves, such as vinegars and syrups.

Everything will be provided for you, although you may want to bring your own pen, notebook and water bottle.

No experience necessary, open to all.
