Form in Nature – Sculpture Exhibition 2021

See the beautiful Sussex garden at Borde Hill transformed into a stunning outdoor gallery with ‘Form in Nature’, a carefully curated exhibition of sculpture, kindly sponsored by 1st Central Insurance.

More than 80 sculptures will be placed throughout the 17-acre formal garden, working in harmony with the renowned horticultural collection that has put Borde Hill on the map. The diverse display of abstract and figurative works will highlight fresh new talent, alongside some familiar names returning to be part of this celebration of art. Andrewjohn Stephenson Clarke, family owner of Borde Hill, says, ‘This is the 22nd anniversary of our sculpture exhibition, and we’re delighted to support the wonderful artists and their impressive works, which celebrate creativity at a time when we all need a touch of magic.’

Will Carr’s kinetic wind sculpture ‘Fluidity’ will captivate viewers as it twists and turns in the breeze in front of the Elizabethan Mansion. Wandering further into the garden ‘rooms’, visitors will encounter ‘Greer, Guardian Angel, a striking figure by artist sculptor Ed Elliott, a work which was awarded ‘Sculpture of the Year 2020’ at the Cotswold Sculpture Park.

Exploring the Garden’s hidden spaces, visitors will stumble across exquisite stone carvings, alongside works in resin, metal and glass. Many pieces draw inspiration from the natural world, including ‘Sycamore Spin’ by Zoe Singleton, ‘Ammonite’ by Nicola Axe and ‘Falling Water’ by Richard Cresswell.

Smaller pieces will be exhibited inside the Glasshouse and Green Tree Gallery, encouraging visitors to explore every nook and cranny of the historic garden and grounds. All works will be on sale, with something to suit every taste and pocket.

The exhibition, kindly sponsored by 1st CENTRAL, will run daily from 7th May – 30th September 2021 with admission included in the standard entry price.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

‘Little Buds’ Family Gardening Club: FLOWER PRINTS

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]‘Little Buds’ is our family friendly Gardening Club, designed to get green-fingered little ones aged 3-8 years outdoors and enjoying nature in the beautiful grounds at Borde Hill. The club concept is simple – to inspire children and their families to learn more about gardening, grow your own (GYO) and how to look after wildlife. What could be more important than developing skills that will last a lifetime and promote the benefits of healthy eating and natural living?

Join Suzanne Mark from Treehoppers Forest Kindergarten at Borde Hill, and Paulina Hechenleitner, a horticulturist and plant scientist who trained at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh and Kew, who will lead the group in a range of fun and engaging gardening and nature-themed activities. Children will be able to plant, play and get creative, and parents can take-home tips for their own garden.

The sessions include hands-on gardening, vegetable growing and inspiring craft activities that will vary according to the season. Children will be able to take home planted seeds, bulbs and their own crafts: experiences designed to inspire and educate.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Session 2 FLOWER PRINTS
The session will start with a celebration of the summer flowering plants at Borde Hill. We will create unique and colourful designs with natural dyes, using Hapa Zome. We will also have the opportunity to learn how to pot up plug plants that have been grown in modular trays or pots at Borde Hill.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”13554″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Tickets
