As a small, independent charity, we rely on your additional generosity to help fund our projects and to continue to grow Borde Hill Garden for future generations to enjoy.
Membership and visitor income makes a vital contribution, but to bring all of our projects to life we rely on donations from generous individuals.
Closing our gates to the public on 22 March 2020 due to the Coronavirus crisis was the right decision to make, but has presented the Garden and our staff with a real challenge. We rely on the income we receive from our visitors and members to support the upkeep of the Garden, as well as our horticultural aims and projects. Whilst closed we want to continue to maintain the Garden so that we are ready to welcome visitors back as soon as we are advised it is safe to do so by the Government. It would make a huge difference if you would consider supporting us by making a donation – thank you.
By making a donation you are helping to fund our current projects:
Rose Garden Fountain Project
Contemporary sculptor, Brendon Murless, has been commissioned to create a permanent fountain for the central pool of the Rose Garden inspired by the beauty of roses.
The previous fountain was on loan from the artist and removed in October 2019 creating an exciting opportunity for a new water feature. The work will follow in the style of Brendon’s striking sculpture, ‘Look to the Stars’, which was exhibited in the 2019 Sculpture Exhibition. It is due to be installed later in the year and promises to intrigue and delight visitors to the Rose Garden.
Warren Wood Renovation Project
Warren Wood offers visitors an oasis of tranquillity and is of horticultural significance due to its fine collection of rare and exotic trees, many grown from seeds collected by the Great Plant Hunters. The Renovation Project will:
- Improve access for all with new accessible pathways
- Restore original Victorian water features
- See the creation of a Forest School building
