Juliet Sargeant is a multi-award-winning garden designer and media gardener; well known to Gardeners World and Gardeners Question Time audiences. She is known for the relaxed atmospheres that she creates with her informal planting schemes for Sussex country houses.

‘Designing a Rose Border with Beautiful Companion Flowers’ Workshop – Wednesday 6 July, 10.00-3.30
Drawing from the inspiration of the famous Borde Hill Rose Garden, you will learn how to combine roses and herbaceous plants to create borders and arches which will flower from spring to autumn. In this illustrated talk and workshop, Juliet will explain how to choose the most reliable roses and combine them with suitable under-planting, to create borders that perform for months, with the classic romance of roses.

By the end of the day you will:
- understand how to combine rose plants for a beautiful effect
- understand how to extend the season of interest of your rose borders
- know a good range of herbaceous plants to combine with and underplant your rose border
- Be inspired by Borde Hill’s beautiful rose garden and learn to re-create its magic in your own home.
We will be an informal group. Juliet teaches in an accessible, workshop style with illustrated ‘info-bites’ and relevant exercises for you to think about your own garden. As well as being an award-winning garden designer, Juliet has been teaching gardening to professionals and enthusiasts for over 15 years.
