[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The Garden of Imagination – Family Trail*

Let your children’s imaginations run wild this summer holiday, as they explore the Garden on a mystical daily trail, discovering fantasy creatures including elves, unicorns and mermaids along the way. During the adventure seek out the hidden fairy doors in the Flying Fairy Forest or spot the Giants buttons hidden in the trees. If you’re feeling full of beans why not head down to the Enchanted Woodland on an extended trail to find the twelve fairies who live there, discovering their special fairy powers as you go.

We ask that Trails are pre-booked in advance so that the booklets are ready for collection on arrival. Please bring your own pencil where possible. Prizes will be available for collection from the gazebo at the end of the trail.

Please note that the Adventure Playground is currently closed due to government requirements for enhanced cleaning and hygiene routines. We will open it as soon as it is safe to do so.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Tickets

Sharp Shots Photography Workshop for kids (7-11) – Capturing Summer Sun
Aug 6 @ 10:30 am – 1:00 pm

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

Capturing Summer Sun – photography workshop for kids aged 7-11

This photography course will focus on capturing the summer sun through our camera lenses. Students will learn how their camera makes a photograph enabling them to take great close ups of Borde Hill’s amazing flowers and sculptures and sharp wildlife images of the bees and butterflies.

We will spend the majority of the class outdoors in the beautiful grounds capturing summer through our lenses together. We’ll find bright coloured flowers to photograph, learning how to blur our backgrounds, and take show-stopping action shots of one another and the birds & bugs in the park. Our students will put to use their new knowledge, using their camera settings and composition tips to create fun summer images to show off at home.

All courses will be conducted within the government guidelines and social distancing will be followed.

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

Capturing Summer Sun – photography workshop for teens aged 12-15

This course will focus on capturing the essence of summer. Students will learn how their aperture, shutter speed and iso affect their images and make great photos.

We will teach our students how to use their camera settings creatively, making wonderful images of the summer through their viewfinders. We will work with aperture to blur the backgrounds behind the summer blossoms and shutter speed to capture the wildlife in the gardens of Borde Hill. We’ll look at famous photographers images together, discussing composition and how we can apply the same ideas in our own photographs. The majority of the lesson outdoors using our new knowledge to take stunning colourful shots representing summer at its best!

Bring a snack!

The session is very practical and there will be several opportunities for the children to take their own pictures of Borde Hill Garden using techniques that they have learnt as they go along.

“My daughter Ana attended Alex’s Introduction to Photography Course for teenagers.  Ana absolutely loved the session and didn’t stop talking about it all day.  Not only was it fun and engaging, but Ana feels she has learnt a huge amount and is looking forward to the next course.  I can’t thank Alex enough for being so lovely with the kids and for fuelling my daughter’s photography passion.”

Children's Outdoor Theatre: Mr Stink - Postponed to 2021
[85]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_column_text]David Walliams’ best-seller Mr Stink is coming to Borde Hill Garden with an open air theatre production staged by Heartbreak Productions.

Description:
You’re invited to celebrate Annabelle’s 10th birthday, hosted by everyone’s favourite MP candidate, Janet Crumb! (Almost) everyone is welcome… that is, everyone apart from Chloe’s particularly smelly new friend, Mr Stink.

One perfectly normal afternoon in an average English town two restless souls unite on a park bench – one of them the lonely 12 year old Chloe Crumb and the other an incredibly smelly homeless man. Oh, and let’s not forget his loyal dog, the Duchess. Chloe’s curiosity and kindness pave the way for this extraordinary and rewarding friendship that takes them to the heady heights of live television and Downing Street via a garden shed.

Pack a picnic, grab a chair and dress for the weather. Packed with fun, humour and a heart-warming message, this touching tale provides the perfect family entertainment.

Performed on the South Lawn against the backdrop of the Elizabethan Mansion House, Heartbreak Productions’ version of this popular children’s book is suitable for children aged 7+.

Refreshments will be available throughout the performance.
