From 22 June, a roundabout will be constructed at the junction where Balcombe Road, Borde Hill Lane and Hanlye Lane intersect.

Some council diversion signs may be incorrect. Follow the yellow Borde Hill Open signs through the diversion.

For 12 weeks from 22 June the road North from Haywards Heath joining Borde Hill Lane and Hanlye Lane is closed in both directions. Diversion signs are in place.

There is also a 1 way system in Cuckfield that is already in place for the full 12 weeks.

Initially Borde Hill Lane and Hanlye Lane WILL BE OPEN for visitors to Borde Hill Garden and local businesses.

It is expected that the whole junction at South Lodge (where Hanlye Lane joins Borde Hill Lane) will be fully closed for 3 weeks. Please check our website for updates.

Note that the road signs saying “Road Closed” do not at present mean you cannot drive from Balcombe or Cuckfield to Borde Hill as both of those routes are open for access at present.

You may therefore drive from Ardingly, Balcombe or Cuckfield and as Hanlye Lane and Borde Hill Lane are still open from those villages to Borde Hill.
