A Summer of Family Fun

This summer, plan a day out for the whole family at Borde Hill.

Children aged 3-8 years can explore the Woods of Wonder trail in the Garden, while older children aged 9-12 years can race around the Parkland on a Dino Detectives trail. Families can also visit the Adventure Playground which is located in the Garden and included in admission.

The Woods of Wonder Garden Trail

Saturday 17 July to Saturday 11 September, 10am-5pm daily

This summer, children aged 3 to 8 years can join Warren the Flower Fairy on a magical adventure in Warren Wood. Get ready to travel to imaginary lands and meet otherworldly creatures… discover that the trees can hear, flowers can talk and strange hidden beings watch your every move. Nothing is what is seems!

Explore each mystical land, filling in the activities in the ‘Woods of Wonder’ story book. Once all the chapters have been completed, return to the ‘real’ world and collect a reward.

Recommended age: 3-8 years

Price: £3.00 per trail to include a prize, plus admission (FREE to Members). Advance booking required.

The Woods of Wonder Trail takes place in Warren Wood and is suitable for children aged 3-8 years. The Dino Detective Trail takes place in the Parkland and is suitable for older children aged 9-12 years.

As the Trails are located in different areas of Borde Hill, it is not possible to do them at the same time. Each Trail will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour

Dino Detectives… Crack the Code Parkland Trail

Saturday 17 July to Saturday 11 September, 10am-5pm daily

Do you have what it takes to become a junior paleontologist on our Dino Detective Trail in the Parkland?

Children aged 9 to 12 years can race around the lakes in the stunning Borde Hill Parkland cracking beastly difficult codes as they go. On the route, discover some fascinating dinosaur facts to win a prize. Those who crack the codes and complete the trail in the quickest time will be added to our ‘top ten times’ leader board’.  What are you waiting for? Get set, go….

Please note that the paths in the Parkland are not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs.

Please note the Dino Detectives Trail will be closed on Sunday 22 August due to the Horse Trials taking place in the Parkland

‘Wilderness Camp’ – Family Bushcraft Experience

Saturday 4th September, 9.30am-3pm

Switch off from technology and make the most of being outdoors this summer by joining ‘Wilderness Camp’, a bushcraft experience for the whole family held in the beautiful woodland at Borde Hill.

Try your hand at den building, lighting fires, cooking marshmallows on a stick and outdoor games.

Family of 4 people – £100

Tickets include entry to the Garden

Suitable for children aged 5+ (under 5’s free).
All children to be accompanied by a paying adult.

Good to know

  • Toilets and baby-changing facilities are located at our Visitor Reception and near to the Long Dell in the Garden. There are no toilets or baby-changing facilities in the Parkland.
  • Picnics are welcome throughout the Parkland and Garden. Please help protect our Parkland and to keep it unspoilt by leaving no trace and by taking litter home.
  • Please bring a named and reusable water bottle for your children.
  • The paths in the Garden are buggy friendly, but not in the Parkland.
  • For the comfort and safety of all visitors, ball games, bicycles, scooters and skateboards are welcome in the Parkland, but are not permitted in the Garden.
